Notice of Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Annual Dinner
 
The 2009 Annual General Meeting and Annual Dinner of the Hong Kong Beta Gamma Sigma Alumni Chapter will be held on 22 May 2009, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Super Star Seafood Restaurant (19-27 Wyndham Street, Central, Hong Kong).

 
We will have the AGM first, followed by a sumptuous ten-course Chinese banquet.
 
The agenda is as follows:
I. Opening of the meeting by the President
II. Report on the activities of the Chapter in 2008
III. Secretary’s Report
IV. Treasurer’s Report
V. Election of the Directors of the Executive Committee
VI. Other business
VII. Close of the meeting by the President
VIII. Annual Dinner

The ExCom solicits in advance the following from its members:
  
1. Nominations for election to the ExCom.
  
We are seeking up to ten (10) members who would be willing to serve on the ExCom for the next one-year term.  The new Directors will be elected by the members of the Chapter at the AGM.  Should we have more nominees than positions, those individuals receiving the highest number of votes will be elected to the ExCom. A nominee does not need to be sponsored or nominated by another Chapter member. Anyone who wishes to stand for election can be self-nominated. A nominee does not need to specify the office to which he/she wishes to be elected. The newly-elected ExCom will elect its own officers.
  
If you wish to be considered for election to the ExCom, please complete the form found at the end of this e-mail, including a short biography. Please send this form to Tommy Chan by e-mail at hkbgs@yahoo.com, or by mail at the address shown below. The biography should be at most a couple of paragraphs long, and may include such information as your education, where and when you were inducted into BGS, your current occupation, any personal information you deem relevant, and what you would hope to accomplish if elected.
 
Prior to the AGM the ExCom will publish the biographies of the nominees it has received.
 
 
2. Any business you wish to discuss other than that listed above.
 
Please advise on the topic and nature of any other business you wish to raise at the AGM. Please send your ideas, if any, to Tommy Chan at hkbgs@yahoo.com.
 
 
Attached to this e-mail is a proxy form to be used if you cannot attend the AGM but want to vote in the ExCom election. You may either nominate someone to represent you at the meeting, or nominate the current ExCom President, Tommy Chan, as your proxy. You signify your choice by crossing out the option you do not want. If you wish to exercise your proxy, please complete it and return it as set forth on the form.
